Which franchise will be the next basketball dynasty?
It's not flashy or interesting to most people to say so, but it seems pretty obvious that the next great team could/should be the Utah Jazz. They've already got almost all the pieces in place & are very young, plus they've already been to the conference finals. Williams is the future #1 PG in the league, Boozer (despite his D) is going to be a top 10-15 scorer over the next 5-10 years, Okur is the top shooting big man in the league (just look at his 3's this year... even better than Dirk), he just had a tough last month. Kirilenko is an X-factor, because he COULD be the best defender in the league if he'd just get over the fact that the Jazz don't need him to score. These guys are all under 30 and have a lot of growing room. All they need is one more player. Someone who can play some D, hit an open 3, and create his own shot when need-be. I could see them trying to move Miles, Giricek &/or a draft pick or two to get that type of player. (Remember, they almost had Maggette last year.) The team even has a good, young bench (Millsap). The Cav's look good, and it's hard to bet against LaBron. But Ilgaukas is getting worse, not better, and they have little inside game after Big Z. They don't have a real PG either. The Suns look good on paper, but that team will never win it all. They just don't care enough about defense, and Nash isn't getting any younger.
